Prior to being accepted, the Johnson family was living in a small apartment with several concerns for their family, such as mold, insects, and most importantly unsafe neighborhood. Safety was a major concern for the family, as they have a young daughter. The family wanted a safe place for their daughter to play and grow up and not have to worry about busy streets or drug activity.
This is what led the Johnson family to apply for Habitat’s Homeownership Program. The family has overcome many hardships in life and they are excited for the opportunity and responsibility of owning their own home.
The Johnson's will own our 97th home on Chicago Street in Green Bay. Construction on this home began August 2016 and was dedicated Thursday, December 8 at 5:30 PM.
The opportunity to be a part of the Habitat for Humanity program has been a blessing to our family. It has given us hope that one day we will be able to give our daughter the type of home we have dreamed of.”
