Group Build Days

Volunteering as a group on a Habitat build site is a great opportunity for corporations, civic organizations, neighborhoods, and churches.  It offers great team building opportunities while making a difference in the community.

How to Sign Up:

To sign up for a group build day, contact Kristen Jeanquart, Volunteer Coordinator, by phone (920-293-3921) or email. 

You will be added to a Group Waiting List.

As soon as a schedule is finalized for the next home, you will be contacted with a list of available build dates, the anticipated tasks, and the number of volunteers needed.  You can then sign up for an opportunity that works for your group. 

Sign up is on a first come, first serve basis and the dates fill up quickly! 

Planning a Successful Build Day:

After signing up for a build day:

• Contact friends, family, co-workers, team mates etc. and invite them to volunteer.

Two weeks prior to your build day:

• Follow up with volunteers to complete and return paperwork.
  
• If you are having problems finding volunteers, contact the Volunteer Coordinator
  

At least one week prior to your build day:

• Send the list of names and volunteer paperwork to the Volunteer Coordinator
  
• Since we plan on having a certain number of volunteers on site for each build day, if the list of names and volunteer paperwork is not received one week prior to the build day, your reserved volunteer spots will be opened up to the rest of our volunteers. 
  

Two days prior to your build day:

• Send each of your volunteers a friendly reminder about volunteering, including date, time, and location of the build.
• You may also want to pass along the following helpful hints:
  
  • Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather and the task (shorts are okay).  You will be working outside, so expect to get dirty.
    
  • No open-toed shoes or sandals permitted. 
    
  • Any volunteers not dressed appropriately will be asked to leave.
    
  • Sunscreen is recommended.
    
  • All tools will be provided for you; but if you would like, you are welcome to bring your own safety glasses, hammer, tape measure and gloves.
    
  • Lunch will be provided at noon and water will be on-site all day.  You are welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages. 
     

On your build day:

• Arrive between 7:45 a.m.-8 a.m. to check in.
