Faces of Habitat: Meet Ben

9/24/2026

Faces of Habitat is our ongoing blog series where we shine a light on the amazing people who make Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity what it is.

This month, we're featuring our ReStore Merchandise Manager, Ben.

Ben celebrated his 5-year work anniversary this past May. As our Merchandise Manager, he plays a key role in creating an inviting shopping experience throughout the ReStore. From processing, cleaning, pricing, and staging furniture to keeping the sales floor organized, well-stocked, and attractive, Ben helps transform donated items into valuable resources that support Habitat's mission. Every sale helps fund our work building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.

What is your favorite part about working with Habitat? In other words, what is your why?

My favorite part of working at Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity are the people, the treasures, and the sense of pride in our mission. The people are what makes the day interesting. Between staff, volunteers, and customers, I have so much fun talking and interacting with so many different people with different walks of life. In my 5 years here, I am still seeing items and treasures come in that I have never seen before. Being able to have a job and knowing that the money we raise goes towards funding the homes we build and keeping housing affordable for families in need, gives me a sense of pride that I wouldn't have working for big corporation.

What is one moment that stands out from your time at Habitat?

Going to one of our Habitat Homeowner's home dedication was a profound moment I was glad to have witnessed. Seeing her family purchase a well-built home that is affordable to them was a wonderful experience.

What is something you love to do when you're not at work?

I am a Ben of all trades! I feel I have many hobbies and interest that come and go. I enjoy playing video games with my wife and friends, I like to fish, read, camp, and I love to watch movies and listen to music.

Just for fun: if you could instantly become an expert at anything, what would it be?

I've always wanted to be more musically inclined, so I would pick to instantly be an expert at an instrument. It could be any or all! Guitar, drums, saxophone, you name it.
