Faces of Habitat: Meet Jennifer

​​Faces of Habitat is our ongoing blog series where we shine a light on the amazing people who make Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity what it is.

This month, we're featuring Jennifer, the Procurement Manager of the Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity ReStore.

Jennifer has been with Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity since February 2016, and she has held a few different roles in the last decade. And her work in procurement has been immensely impactful for the ReStore, and that success has carried over to the mission of Greater Green Bay Habitat.​

What is your favorite part about working with Habitat? In other words, what is your why?

I enjoy helping ReStore donors find a new home for their belongings, I enjoy watching ReStore shoppers find treasures, and I enjoy working with the volunteers and my coworkers. It’s fun to watch the ReStore thrive, and the amount of money it generates to assist in our Homeownership Program is amazing.  Finally, I enjoy getting to know our home buyers and seeing the joy on their faces as they purchase their home from Habitat for Humanity.

What is one moment that stands out from your time at Habitat?​

I was serving as the Volunteer and Event Director in 2020 when COVID hit. Due to the pandemic, we weren’t able to have any volunteers on the build sites or host any in-person events. So, I started working in the ReStore (we didn’t have any volunteers working in the ReStore, either).  My lifelong love of retail was reignited, and when the ReStore had a management position open, I applied. The rest is history!

What is something you love to do when you're not at work?

I love to bake, spend time outside, go hiking, ride my bike, go boating and making memories with friends and family.​

Just for fun: if you could instantly become an expert at anything, what would it be?

Growing herbs, flowers, and my garden.
