Faces of Habitat: Meet Kaylee

1/13/2026

Faces of Habitat is our ongoing blog series where we shine a light on the amazing people who make Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity what it is. This month, we're featuring Kaylee, our Rock the Block Program Manager.

Kaylee has been working for Habitat for Humanity just over one year. She hit the ground running as soon as she was hired, organizing our second Rock the Block revitalization event in Green Bay's Fisk Addition Neighborhood last September. It takes a full year to plan all of the moving pieces for this event, and she did a fantastic job her first year.

She is well into the planning for 2026's Rock the Block event, which will take place in De Pere. Stay tuned to our social media channels and our email newsletter for more information on this (coming very soon) and in the meantime, get to know a little bit more about Kaylee!

What is your favorite part about working with Habitat? In other words, what is your why?

I love working with our team. We are a small but mighty team. The fact that we get as much done in a year with the number of people we have staffed is CRAZY! For my role personally, my why is the homeowners. As a homeowner myself, I know how hard it can be to keep up with everything and have to budget for things that need to be done around the house. The Rock the Block program brings a sense of relief and community to the homeowners we help and it brings me so much joy to provide that helping hand.

What is one moment that stands out from your time at Habitat?

What stands out most is my experience with a specific homeowner I worked with during Rock the Block last year. She is an older woman that financially could not afford to re-side her garage although it was very necessary. She cared deeply for her home as you could see in her garden and general upkeep of the home. She felt so productive and proud to be working alongside the volunteers. She had a toolbelt and everything! At the end of the event, she expressed her appreciation and gave me a big hug and that will stick with me for a long time. She also had a special bond with Stormy who was her volunteer lead, and they took the most adorable photo together at the end. I was so proud to be able to facilitate a project that gave them the opportunity to have a connection like they did.

What is something you love to do when you're not at work?

Spend time with my family. As a new mom, I try to soak up every moment I can with my sweet boy who seems to be changing by the minute.

Just for fun: if you could instantly become an expert at anything, what would it be?

I have two. I would love to be an expert at painting. I'm not too shabby and I love painting, but if I had some crazy expert level talent it would be incredible. Also, I would love to be an expert at learning and understanding languages. It comes very easy for some, and I think there is such a benefit to knowing multiple languages. It helps you better navigate situations with other people and it also changes how you travel. I would be able to immerse myself in the culture of where I am traveling so much more if I could  communicate in the native language!
