Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Hits Historic 7,000 Hours of Service

Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity volunteer Mark Piepenburg hit a historic milestone during his volunteer shift at the ReStore today- 7,000 hours of service. It’s the first time a volunteer for the organization has hit this number.
 
Mark began volunteering in 2006 when his daughter was the Executive Director of Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity. He started mowing Habitat’s vacant lots, before moving to home construction. In 2009, when the ReStore opened, he began volunteering there, and has been a loyal Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning regular ever since. His specialty is in the tool aisle where he sorts, prices, and stocks tools.
 
“Mark is part of the ReStore family,” said ReStore Manager, Carl Blomquist. “He’s been here since our first day, and continues to provide us with endless support and tireless work. Without volunteers like Mark, the ReStore could not even exist. We had fun surprising him with a cake to celebrate his 7,000 hours!”
