Powered by Passion: Meet the "Metalheads"
100% Volunteer-Driven for Maximum Impact
At the heart of our Metals Recycling Program is a dedicated crew of volunteers who call themselves the "Metalheads." This passionate team sorts, strips, and prepares donated metal items to optimize the recycling process, ensuring every donation makes the biggest possible impact. Their efforts not only maximize financial contributions to Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity but also add a layer of sustainability. Items donated to the ReStore that may not qualify for resale—like broken tools or outdated household items—are stripped for metal components, keeping them out of landfills and giving them a second life. Thanks to the Metalheads' hard work, proceeds from recycled metals directly support our mission to build safe and affordable homes for future Habitat homebuyers in Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity's Homeownership Program! |
