Build Site Tasks
|
NOTE: Volunteer groups are asked to prepare and provide lunch for the entire crew, including volunteers, crew leaders and present staff. For details and additional group notes, see below notes under "what volunteer groups need to know before signing up."
Volunteer shifts are subject to change or cancellation due to weather, unforeseen circumstances, or delays in the construction process. Noting the weather, volunteers and groups are strongly encouraged to dress accordingly for the work they will be performing and the elements they may be exposed to (i.e. precipitation, mud or temperature). On the build site, dress for the weather, wear closed toed shoes (required), and apparel that you are not afraid to get dirty. Volunteers work in a vast array of weather situations including hot and cold temperatures, rain and mud, snow, and conditions that require full awareness for safety and surroundings. Each build site is prepared with all proper personal safety equipment to perform tasks and duties.
What volunteer groups need to know before signing up:
Maximum group volunteer size up to six (6) people
To allow each volunteer to gain valuable skills and experience on the build site, group volunteering is limited to six (6) people per organization or group. Limiting group sizes to six (6) ensures a safe and enjoyable volunteer experience. If your group is larger than the maximum request, we can offer multiple site options. Volunteer groups are responsible for meals
Volunteer group on our build site is asked to prepare and provide lunch for the entire crew including your volunteers and the crew of staff and volunteers (typically about 12 to 14 individuals - total count is provided one week prior to the volunteer date). Meals can be simple and inexpensive, but enough to feed the entire crew on the build site. Scheduling a Group Volunteer Date
We encourage interested groups to provide as much detail as possible during the inquiry process. Before submitting an inquiry, the group or corporate contact should identify a head count as well as the date of availability for the volunteer service. Once the group or corporate contact has submitted the inquiry, a representative of Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity will reach out with the next steps and scheduling. |
Volunteer shifts & changes
With the unpredictability of construction, we are not able to solidify what tasks will take place on a specific day. After a group has registered to volunteer, the Volunteer Manager will coordinate final details as the date approaches. Build Site Volunteer Days and Shifts
