Volunteering
Habitat volunteers' impact goes beyond the homes we build together. When we build homes for families who work hard, need and deserve decent, affordable housing, we build a community of self-reliance, accountability, and stability.
Our volunteers make an even bigger impact than the homes we build together. Every volunteer has a hand in building homes, communities and hope whether they're hammering nails on the build site, preparing lunches or meals for volunteers, or spending time in the ReStore, every minute and hour counts toward a bigger purpose.

Every Habitat home purchased in Brown County serves individuals and families who have a need for affordable housing, the ability to pay for a 0% interest mortgage, and will partner with Habitat.

Along the way, volunteers meet new friends, connect with the community, and build comradery. Our volunteers are instrumental in helping us accomplish our goal of building homes by laying the foundation of success for our families one home at a time. Volunteers help build a better community and make meaningful impact that lasts a lifetime.

Volunteer Statistics
Volunteer labor is vital to our mission at the bottom line. With volunteers on the build site and in the ReStore, Habitat for Humanity can lower the upfront cost of building a home. With the rising cost of tools and materials, the spotlight on volunteerism has never been brighter. Every year, we rely on thousands of volunteer hours and hundreds of volunteers to raise walls, and operate nearly an entire retail store. In the 2023/24 fiscal year, Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity welcomed 673 volunteers who completed 29,104 total hours.
You can become one of the thousands of local volunteers making an impact in Brown County through volunteerism. In Greater Green Bay, people from all walks of life take a day off, find time after work or during a weekend, or even time during their workday through their employer and devote time to make a difference. Don't wait, volunteer today!
