Sales and Merchandising Assistant, Full-Time

General Job Summary:
The ReStore Sales and Merchandising Associate will be responsible for assisting in maintaining a clean, well merchandised store, as well as providing excellent customer service. This includes safely lifting and moving large and small items and answering customers’ questions. Make no mistake - this is a job where you are physically active most of the time!

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to donors and customers, including answering questions about store products and policies
- Work side-by-side with volunteers to sort, price, and move product to the sales floor
- Keep our store orderly, stocked, and clean at all times
- On occasion, will require cashiering, assisting warehouse staff with taking in donations, and other responsibilities as needed
- Will regularly require working Saturday hours (8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.) but will not include any nights or Sundays
- Assist with other areas as assigned, including Habitat events at the ReStore
Supervision Exercised Over: N/A
Hours: Approximately 40 hours/week
Requirement:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Exceptional customer service skills
- One year retail sales floor experience, preferably in a home decor, furniture, or home improvement store
- Dependable and solid work history
- Candidate must submit to a drug test and background check
- Provide excellent customer service
- Work independently in an organized fashion, in a fast-paced environment
- Effectively manage multiple tasks
- Basic computer skills and point of sale knowledge helpful, but not required
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight
- Frequently and safely lift and move 20-40 lbs. by yourself, and team-lift heavier items
